Deposit PLANNED TO BE ONSTREAM MID-1978. RHENIUM IS A POTENTIAL BYPRODUCT. FOLLOWING INITIAL OPEN-PIT MINING, PLANS CALL FOR UNDER- GROUND PRODUCTION, PROBABLY UTILIZING A BLOCK CAVING SYSTEM. OPERATING COSTS RESULT IN A PRICE OF $0.62/LB OF COPPER PRO- DUCED. MINING COSTS ARE ABOUT $0.03/LB=$66/MT AND MILLING COSTS ARE $0.13/LB OR $287/MT COPPER PRODUCED. BYPRODUCT OUTPUT MAY BE WORTH UP TO $0.54/LB. PLANT OPENED IN MID-1978. CAPACITY PRODUCTION IS EXPECTED IN EARLY 1979. MINABLE RESERVES INCLUDE THE OPEN PIT RESERVES AND THE FIRST LIFT OF THE BLOCK CAVE OPERATION. MINING PLANS FOR THE BUNKVILLE, CENTRAL OPEN PIT AND LOWER PAGATBAR OREBODIES HAVE NOT YET BEEN DEVELOPED. (IT IS ASSUMED THAT THESE ADDITIONAL UG RESERVVES MAKE UP THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 238,000,000 MT BEING REPORTED AS "GEOLOGICAL" RESERVE AND 111,789 MT MINABLE RESERVE FOR THE ECONOMIC STUDY. MINABLE RESERVE BASED ON CUT-OFF OF 0.30% CU FOR OPEN PIT AND 0.35% CU FOR BLOCK CAVE OPERATION.
