Comments on the production information

  • PLANT STARTED OPERATIONS IN 1931 AND WAS LAST MODERNIZED IN 1971 WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A FIFTH CONVERTER. PLANT USES REVERBERATORY FURNACES AND GASES FROM THE FURNACES ARE NOT COLLECTED. LESS THAT 50% OF GAS EMISSIONS ARE TREATED BY BY A SINGLE CONTACT ACID PLANT. WHILE CAPACITY IS NOMINALLY 65,000 MTPY, FOR ENVIRONMENTAL REASONS IT HAS BEEN REDUCED TO 45,000. IF FINANCING BECOMES AVAILABLE, THERE ARE PLANS TO INTRODUCE VANYUKOV TECHNOLOGY.

Comments on other economic factors

  • FEED COMES FROM THE UCHALI MINE, AS WELL AS THE KRASNOURALSK AND TURJIN CONCENTRATORS. A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF CONC WAS PROCESSED FROM THE ERDENET MINE IN MONGOLIA.
