Comments on other economic factors

  • ALL OF THE ORE IS SUPPLIED BY THE GAI MINE. OF THE TOTAL COPPER CONCENTRATE PRODUCED IN 1989, 59 PERCENT WAS DELIVERED TO SREDNEURALSK, 31 PERCENT WAS DELIVERED TO MEDNOGORSK, 7 PERCENT WAS DELIVERED TO KIROVGRAD, 1.5 PERCENT WAS DELIVERED TO ALMALIC, AND 1.5 PERCENT WAS DELIVERED TO KRASNOURALSK. ZINC CONCENTRATE IS SHIPPED TO THE CHELIABINSK AND THE ALMALIC SMELTERS. PYRITE IS SENT TO THE UVAROVSK CHEMICAL PLANT, THE TZELINOGRAD MINING AND CHEMICAL ENTERPRISE, AND THE CHEREPOVETZ UNIT "AMMOPHOS". IN 1990, THE ENTERPRISE EXPORTED 30,000 TONS OF COPPER CONCENTRATE TO GENERATE FOREIGN EXCHANGE TO ADVANCE ITS INVESTMENT PROGRAM.
