Comments on the production information

  • SINCE 1978, WHEN THE NO. 2 CONCENTRATOR STARTED UP, THE NO. 1 PLANT HAS BEEN USED AS A PILOT PLANT. HOWEVER, SINCE 1989, THE NO. 1 PLANT HAS BEEN USED TO TREAT ABOUT 100,000 METRIC TONS PER YEAR OF ORE FROM THE DALNI MINE, AT A GRADE OF 1.5 PERCENT COPPER. RECOVERY HAS BEEN 86 PERCENT, WHICH IMPLIES A PRODUCTION OF 1,290 METRIC TONS PER YEAR OF COPPER IN CONCENTRATES, GRADING 18 TO 19 PERCENT COPPER, IN ADDITION TO THE FIGURES SHOWN ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE. THERE ARE PLANS TO REFURBISH AND RECONSTRUCT THE NO. 1 CONCENTRATOR AND TO PARTIALLY RECONSTRUCT THE NO. 2 CONCENTRATOR IN ORDER TO COPE WITH THE ADDITIONAL ORE. THE TAILINGS DAM FOR THE NO. 1 PLANT WILL BE UPGRADED AND A PUMP STATION FOR WATER RECYCLING WILL BE INSTALLED.
