Comments on the reserve resource information

  • IN CONTINUOUS PRODUCTION SINCE ABOUT 1960. FOR ANALYSIS: 10,000 MTPY ROM FOR: 8,000 MTPY FINES AND 2,000 MTPY LUMP. ALL PRODUCTS AT 47 % CR2O3 AND SENT TO KWE KWE SMELTER. GREAT DYKE RESOURCE. SEAMS 9 & 10 PRESENT ON SECTION. BOTH SEAMS .15 M THICK.
  • 1/89 INSITU DEMO.TONNAGE = SEAMS 9 & 10 TO 300 M ON-DIP. 85 PCT RECOVERY.
  • 75% PROBABILITY LEVEL IS ESTIMATE OF TONNAGE CONTAINED IN 3 SEAMS (NO. 9,10,11) TO 300 METERS DOWN DIP (100 METERS VERT. DEPTH). THICKNESSES OF THE THREE SEAMS ARE ESTIMATED TO BE .1,.12, AND .1 METERS RESPECTIVELY. ESTIMATED STRIKE LENGTHS OF OUTCROPS OF THE THREE SEAMS IN THE AREA ARE 8,000 12,000 AND 24,000 METERS RESPECTIVELY. 50% PROBABILITY LEVEL IS ESTIMATED BY INCREASING DOWN DIP EXTENSION TO A 1000 METERS FOR SEAMS 10 AND 11.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit INFORMATION OF 1981 INDICATES THAT AFRICAN CHROME MINES WERE PRODUCING FROM AN OPERATING UNIT IN THE IMPINGE AREA. THIS ANALYSIS TREATS A SINGLE SECTION THE "IMPINGE SECTION" AS ONE MINEABLE UNIT. IN REALITY, MORE THAN ONE COMPANY MAY HOLD THE LEASES FOR THE AREA DESCRIBED AND THERE MAY BE MORE THAN ONE MINE BEING OPERATED AT THE SAME TIME BY DIFFERENT COMPANIES. TO ANALIZE THE ENTIRE GREAT DYKE IT WAS NECESSARY TO ADDRESS THE SITUATION IN A LOGICAL, COMPARTMENTALIZED FASHION. HENCE, THE "IMPINGE SECTION" ANALIZED UNDER SEQ. NO. 7960100041 REFERS TO A 12KM SECTION OF THE GREAT DYKE FROM S 16 DEG. 48 MIN. TO S 16 DEG. 55 MIN. (GURUNGWE FAULT TO IMPINGE FAULT) AND INCLUDES ALL OCCURRENCES (EAST AND WEST SIDES) OF THE DYKE OVER THIS SECTION.
