Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • SAPPHIRES WERE FOUND IN SLUICE BOXES WITH THE RECOVERY OF OF PLACER GOLD, BUT NO ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO RECOVER THEM. QUARTZ GULCH AND BASIN GULCH CONVERGE INTO EUREKA GULCH WHICH FLOWS INTO ROCK CREEK. THE GULCHES WERE PATENTED FROM THEIR MOUTHS TO THEIR HEADWATERS, BUT 3 CLAIMS ON THE HEADWATER AREA OF QUARTZ CREEK WERE DEEDED BACK TO THE US FOREST SERVICE IN 1965.
