Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = The general area of this prospect is underlain by the Devonian Yanert Fork sequence which consists of siliceous mudstone, argillite, slate, phyllite, semischist, and impure quartzite, and minor metachert and metavolcanic rocks. The bedded rocks are cut by Triassic(?) sills and dikes (Wilson and others, 1998). The deposit reportedly consists of disseminated chaclopyrite and other sulfides, adjacent to a gabbro sill. Samples contained 2,300 ppm copper and 0.5 ppm gold (Sherwood and others, 1976).
  • Age = Possibly Late Triassic.
