Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = The shear zone contains 10 inches of crushed to massive quartz, with gold, arsenopyrite, and stibnite. The shear strikes N 79 E and dips 60 S. The shear is parallel to and north of a small granite porphyry dike but its relationship to the dike is not known. By 1931, a shaft had been sunk 15 feet with 30 feet of drift extending to the west (Hill, 1933). Pilgrim (1933) states that surface exposures on this prospect produced 35 tons of ore prior to 1932. This material averaged $35 per ton in gold (1.7 ounces of gold per ton).
