Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This prospect is situated on a N 60 W, 80 S shear zone which is parallel to and 200 feet south of the Branholm-Jenkins (McNeil) shear. The only known reference to this prospect indicates that in the early 1960's Bill Basham and Art Wells extracted a sample which returned a grade of $5,000 per ton in gold (142 ounces of gold per ton) (Pilkington, 1970; R. Vetter, oral commun., 1992). Previous grab samples of vein quartz from the prospect returned values of 1.25 and 7.00 ppm gold (0.036 and 0.204 ounces of gold per ton) (Pilkington and others, 1969). Follow-up trenching and channel sampling indicated no significant mineralization on the prospect (Pilkington, 1970).
