Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Mining claims have been staked for gold and antimony on Gold Run, a headwater tributary to Bonita Creek (Kardex site Kx 207, Heiner and Porter, 1972; Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys, 1982). Bedrock in this area is marble and schist that is locally cut by high-angle faults, including an eastward extension of the Anvil Creek fault (Hummel, 1962 [MF 247]).
  • Age = Quaternary.
