But no record that any lode claims have ever been staked in Le Conte Bay nor more recent confirmation of any gold veins in the vicinity. Coordinate cited above were chosen arbitrarily in about the center of Le Conte Bay. Locality 21 of Grybeck, Berg, and Karl (1984).
