Relative position This site is located on the Alaska Peninsula on the north shore of upper Lefthand Bay. It is at the boundary of secs. 26 and 27, T. 53 S., R. 75 W., of the Seward Meridian. It is referred to as PMRGX-22 by Wilson and others (1988, locality 71). The location is accurate to within 1,200 feet.

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This occurrence consists of iron-stained sandstone, siltstone, and thin-bedded tuff of the Eocene to Oligocene Stepovak Formation (Wilson and others, 1988, 1995). Two samples collected by the U.S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980's were reported to be anomalous in arsenic, barium, and lead (Wilson and others, 1988).
