Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = This site represents a lode claim for copper as indicated on U.S. Bureau of Mines maps in 1973. The area is underlain by sedimentary units of the Jurassic Naknek Formation (Detterman and others, 1987). It has been suggested that the mineralization may be related to a dike (Church and others, 1989: MF-1539I).
