  • MIDLAND IS GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS OF MANUFACTURING - BUT IS NO LONGER MINING THIS LOCATION. BRINE WAS EXTRACTED FROM WELLS (NUMBER 130 AT ONE TIME) FROM FIELDS ABOUT 300 SQUARE MILES EXTENDING FROM MIDLAND TO MOUNT PLEASANT.

Deposit CURRENTLY MIDLAND LOCATION IS HOME OF DOW CHEMCIAL GLOBAL HEADQUATERS. CURRENTLY THE WELLS ARE ALL PLUGGED IN THE MDLAND AREA - BUT DOW IS STILL MINING IN THE LUDINGTON LOCATION. (SEE DOW CHEMCIAL-LUDINGTON). THE MDLAND SITE SITS ON 1900 ACRES WITH THE TITTABAWASSEE RIVER RUNNING THROUGH IT, THERE ARE 550 BUILDINGS, 40 PRODUCTION PLANTS, AND 40 MILES OF ROADS.
Deposit IN THE 1950'S DOW HAD APPROXIMATELY 130 WELLS LOCATED IN A FIELD FROM MDLAND TO MOUNT PLEASANT.
