Comments on the commodity information

  • MINERALIZED ZONE IS ASSOCIATED WITH WEAKLY DISSEMINATED CALCITE-CHLORITE-SERICITE-PYRITE ALTERATION. LOCALLY, MINOR FE-CARBONATE IS OBSERVED AT SURFACE AND IN FELSIC UNITS ENCOUNTERED IN DRILLING. AN EARLY EPIDOTE-PYRRHOTITE (SPILLITE) EVEN IS TENTATIVELY RECOGNIZED (BORNHORST ET AL., 1999).

Comments on the geologic information

  • SILVER CREEK WEST IS A GOLD OCCURRENCE WITHIN VARIABLY ALTERED AND FOLIATED MAFIC ROCKS. SURFACE TRENCHING EXPOSED GOLD MINERALIZATION IN DUCTAL SHEARED AND CARBONATE-CHLORITE-SERICITE-PYRITE ALTERED BASALTS NEAR THE MARGIN OF A FELSIC PORPHYRY. IN DRILL HOLE INTERSECTIONS, MINERALIZATION APPEARS TO BE STRATABOUND WITHIN A 170 FT SECTION OF MODERATELY CARBONATE-ALTERED, MASSIVE, MEDIUM-GRAINED MAFIC ROCK. MINERALIZATION DIRECTLY OF INDIRECTLY RELATED TO FAULTS AND SHEAR ZONES. ALTERATION IS RETROGRADE IN NATURE AND CLEARLY POST-METAMORPHIC AND POST-DEFORMATION. CHLORITIZED, EPIDOTIZED, SERICITIZED, CARBONATIZED, AND SILICIFIED. THIN ZONES OF ALBITIZED GRANODIORITE PRESENT IN AREA.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit AREA IS DOMINATED BY METAMORPHOSED AND DEFORMED ARCHEAN VOLCANIC AND INTRUSIVE ROCKS. OLDEST ARE ARHEAN PILLOW BASALTS WITH MINOR FELSIC PYROCLASTIC DEPOSITS WHICH ARE INTRUDED BY ARCHEAN GABBRO AND DIABASE. MAFIC ROCKS ARE INTRUDED BY ARCHEAN GRANODIORITE.
Deposit AT SURFACE, GOLD MINERALIZATION EXPOSED BY TRENCHES OCCURS WITHIN A DUCTILE SHEARED MAFIC VOLCANIC NEAR THE MARGINS OF A FELSIC PORPHYRY. MINERALIZED INTERVALS IN DIAMOND DRILL CORE ARE IN UNFOLIATED, WEAKLY ALTERED MAFIC ROCK.
