Comments on the workings information

  • The early mine was developed by a shaft and underground workings. There is an old mill foundation on the property. There was a metal building on the site from about 1977 to 1979 or so with piles of ore near it.

Comments on other economic factors

  • In 1988 the property contained a reported 500,000 tons grading 0.04 ounces of gold per ton and 0.4 ounces of silver per ton. Estimated reserves and resources in 2004 were 6.3 million tons of material grading 0.023 ounces of gold per ton.
    Reserves at the Hill of Gold deposit in 1988 were reported as 500 Kilotonnes of ore grading 0.04 opt Au and 0.4 opt Ag.
    In 1996, reserves were reported as 1.629 million tons grading 0.026 ounces of gold per ton.

Comments on development

  • Meridian Land and Mineral Co. of Billings, Montana owned the property in 1982. Meridian had about 150 claims over the area. The mine dumps were trenched for sampling and Meridian did some drilling in 1982 north of the shaft.
    The property was evaluated in 1991-93.
    Eastfield Resources, Ltd. controlled the property in 2004.
