Based on sampling for Tenneco (HOMC), Jonson identified an open pit gold prospect here which may approximate 1.8 million tons, at a depth of less than 40 feet. Detailed mapping and sampling were recommended to enhance the target for possible drilling. In 1986 there was no apparent activity except for claim staking by Spectrum.

General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit The deposit consists of a stockwork vein system in latite host in a pediment area exposed by recent erosion. Host rock has been affected by strong argillic alteration with some clays and iron-stained quartz. Minor wispy gray streaks of sulfides occur in quartz veining. Some siliceous sinter is associated with a rhyolite plug along the west edge of the altered area.
