  • An irregular area about 1 square mile, about 3 miles ESE of Leadville, bounded on the south by Iowa Gulch, by Ball Mountain on the east, Breece and Printer Boy Hill on the west, and South Evans Gulch on the north, mostly in sec 28, T 9 S, R 79 W.

Comments on the geologic information

  • An anomalous depression bounded by faults, that includes igneous centers at Breece Hill and Bald Mtn., Paleozoic section intruded by several porphyry bodies, and the Garbutt, Sunday, and Whiteside veins, (Sunshine files, 1948)
  • Graben is bound on all sides by normal faults, including: Modoc-Garbutt-Weston (on the N and W), Ball Mountain (on the E), and Iowa Gulch (on the S).
