Comments on the reserve resource information

  • TEAL's 43-101 cites Kirkpatrick, M., 1997 for 7.06Mt @ 1.58%. This value is much greater than PV Freeman's 1988 value of 0.4 Mt @ 1.68% (the same value reported in the Cox database) or Watts, Griffis, and McQuat, 1991's 0.7 Mt @ 1.70%. (Mike Z. notes that Teal's numbers agree with Woodhead's compilation.)

Deposit Per Tim Hayes, USGS (Jan. 22, 2010): "PITANDA SOUTH is called Mwambashi A by Kirkham et al (1994) and by Selley et al. (2005), though it is shown only on Fig. 2 of the latter and has no resource figures associated with it either in the paper or in the accompanying database (table - Kirkham and Broughton, 2005). The deposit, as Pitanda South, appeared on published maps between Annels (1974) (in Bartholome's Gisements Stratiformes) and Annels and Simmonds (1979). A number of other deposits appeared in between, as well. Kirkham et al (1994) give Pitanda and Pitanda South (Mwambashi A) as 2 distinct entries with separated locations. Both tonnage-grade figures are attributed to P.V. Freeman (1986). I think that we can use both."
