| Deposit | BEDROCK IN THE SORRELS CREEK DRAINAGE IS MAFIC SCHIST IN THE UPPERHEADWATERS REGION AND QUARTZITE AND QUARTZITIC SCHISTS ALONG THE REST OFTHE CREEK (FOSTER AND OTHERS, 1983). GOLD SAMPLING OCCURRED ALL ALONGSORRELS CREEK. IN 1983, BACKHOE TRENCHING AND PITS WERE EXCAVATED TO ADEPTH OF TWELVE FEET. GOLD WAS RECOVERED IN GOLD SCREW SAMPLES. THERE ISALSO EVIDENCE FOR OLD DRIFT MINES (R. HUGHES, ORAL COMMUN., 1998). |
