  • GOERING STATES THAT IN BOTTOM OF ONE OF THE SHAFTS HE STRUCK "BLACK GRAVEL" CARRYING $1.50 A TON. LESSEES IN 1929 APPARENTLY FAILED TO DEVELOP GRAVEL; THE WORK WAS NEARLY ALL IN SOFT, DECOMPOSED GRANITE SAND.
