Deposit QUARTZ STOCKWORK IS ABUNDANT, SERICITIZATION IS LOCALLY PREVALENT, BUT K-SPAR-QUARTZ ALTERATION PREDOMINATES IN MO-ST ROCK. SHEETING IN RHYOLITE AVERAGES N20E, DIP 75 SW. LOCALL-Y SOME FLAT STRUCTURES WITH ABUNDANT SERICITE DIP AS LOW AS 15- DEGREES. MINERALIZED ZONES IN WEAVER RHYOLITE FOLLOW N20E, 75- SW DIP OF SHEETING. QUARTZ-SULFIDE STOCKWORKS ARE ABUNDANT AN-D PRESUMABLY CONTROL ORE DISTRIBUTION. BOTH OXIDE COPPER AND C-HALCOPYRITE OCCUR BUT ARE NOT ABUNDANT. MOST OF THE ORE (OVER -99%) IN THE PIT IS OXIDIZED. SULFIDE IS MORE ABUNDANT IN OLD P-IT ALONG CONTACT LODE. MINE FOREMAN STATES ORE AVERAGES 2 OZ/T- AG; LACANA GEOLOGIST STATES ORE AVERAGES 1 OZ/T AG, WITH TRAC-E OF AU. UNOXIDIZED ROCK CONTAINS ABUNDANT DISSEMINATED PYRITE-, MINOR CHALCOPYRITE AND SOME SULFIDES IN QUARTZ VEINLETS AND -AS SULFIDE STOCKWORKS.; MODEL NAME COULD ALSO BE: COMSTOCK EPITHERMAL VEIN.
Deposit ORE DISCOVERED ON PROPERTY IN 1912. MINE IS OPENED BY SERIES OF DRIFT TUNNELS, NUMBER OF LARGE OPEN CUTS AND SHAFT. THE NEVADA PACKARD MINE CLOSED DOWN IN 1923. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT; 3 FIELD OBSERV
