  • COUNTRY ROCK IS A RHYOLITIC FLOW BRECCIA CONTAINING DISSEMINATED PYRITE. THE PRINCIPAL SURFACE SHOWING IS A LEDGE OF SILICIFIED RHYOLITIC BRECCIA AND QUARTZ 100 FEET LONG BY 40 FEET WIDE, STANDING 5 FEET ABOVE THE SURFACE. A STRIP 4 FEET WIDE CONTAINS STREAKS AND DISSEMINATIONS OF DARK SILVER-SULFIDE ORE MINERALS, SUCH AS ARGENTITE AND STEPHANITE. DEVELOPMENT IN 1916 WAS A 50-FOOT SHAFT AND A 40-FOOT CROSSCUT TUNNEL. THE DEPOSIT DOES NOT SEEM TO HAVE CONTINUITY, EITHER IN HORIZONTAL EXTENT OR IN DEPTH (SCHRADER, P. 108)
