Comments on the geologic information

  • VEINS IN THE FLORIDA CANYON AREA ARE UP TO 24 INCHES WIDE AND CONTAIN SOME SULFIDES. BOTH THE SEDIMENTARY ROCKS OF THE STAR PEAK FORMATION AND THE RHYOLITE OF KOLPATO FORMATION ARE CUT BY QUARTZ-CALCITE VEINS CONTAINING FREE GOLD, PYRITE, GALENA & SPHALERITE. QUARTZ ALSO OCCURS AS PODS AND "BLOWOUTS" IN FLORIDA CANYON ON THE NEVADA NO. 2 CLAIM. SOME OF THE QUARTZ VEINS IN THE NEVHUM AND HUMBOLDT CLAIMS CONTAIN NEEDLES OF TOURMALINE. A VEIN SOUTH IN ADIT NO. 1 CONTAINS QUARTZ, CALCITE, AND FLOURITE WITH SPORADIC FREE GOLD; OCCURING NEAR THE CONTACT WITH THE RHYOLITE.
