Controls for ore emplacement

  • Believed That Cassiterite-Bearing Incrustations Were Deposited Along The Walls Of Funarolic Vents. Evidence Cited Includes The Discontinuity And Extreme Irregularity In Attitude Of The Individual Fissures, The Abscence Of Brecciation And Faulting, The Similar Mingeralogy Of Veside Fillings In The Host Rock And The Veinlets, And The Lack Of Other Sulfides.

Comments on the geologic information

  • THE TIN DEPOSITS CONSIST OF CASSITERITE BEARING QUARTZ VEINLETS, LENSES, AND FRACTURE COATINGS IN RHYOLITE ALONG AN E TRENDING BELT 2 MILES LONG & 1/2 MILE WIDE. THE VEINLETS RANGE FROM LESS THAN 1 INCH TO 18" WIDE AND ARE ERRATIE IN STRIKE & DIP. THE WALLROCK IS UNALTERRED, AND THE FRACTURES DISCONTINUOUS. THE VEINLETS HAVE AN OPEN TEXTURE AND APPEAR AS INCRUSTATIONS OF THE WALLS OF CROSS AND PARALLEL FISSURES.
