Deposit BEDDING. IN MINED AREA IS A FAULT DIPPING 35 NE OVERLAIN BY 2-3 FT SILICIFIED ROCK CONTAINING ONLY MINOR FLUORITE AND A FEW FT OF FE-STAINED KAOLINIZED SHALE. FAULT IS UNDERLAIN BY BRECCIATED, ALTERED FE-STAINED MATERIAL OF QUARTZ WITH LESSER FLUORITE. AN EXTREMELY IRREGULAR HIGH-GRADE FLUORSPAR BODY UP TO 3 FT THICK, CONFORMABLE TO OVERLYING FAULT, IS PRESENT IN THE BRECCIATED ALTERED MATERIAL. THICKER PARTS OF THIS ORE BODY WERE MINED BY A SMALL PIT AND INCLINE BEGAN FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE PIT.
Deposit FLUORSPAR OCCURS IN 2 SEPARATE ZONES: IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE AREA, A FLUORSPAR ZONE HAS BEEN MAPPED FOR 350 FT IN A NE-SW DIRECTION WITH SOME MORE ALTERED FLUORITE-BEARING ROCK EXPOSED IN PITS ALONG STRIKE 500 FT FARTHER SW. ZONE APPEARS TO BE 30-40 FT WIDE WITH NEAR VERTICAL FAULT CONTACTS WITH ONLY SLIGHTLY ALTERED ADJACENT ROCKS. IN PART OF THE ZONE THE ROCK IS INTENSLY KAOLINIZED AND BRECCIATED WITH SOME CALCITE AND MINOR FLUORITE. SEVERAL CALCITE-RICH BODIES ARE PRESENT, THE LARGEST OF WHICH HAS SHARP BUT IRREGULAR CONTACTS WITH ADJACENT ROCK. BEST EXPOSURE OF MINERALIZED ZONE IS AT SE END OF A CENTRAL CROSS-CUTTING TRENCH. MATERIAL HERE IS VERY PALE ORANGE, FRIABLE, VUGGY BRECCIA, OF QUARTZ, FLUORITE, CALCITE, MINOR BARITE. THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE OR NO PRODUCTION FROM THE SOUTHERN AREA. IN THE NORTHERN AREA, 600 FT NORTH, AN ARCUATE-SHAPED DEPOSIT IS 150 FT LONG E-W, 25 FT WIDE, WITH AN IRREGULAR FOOTWALL CONTACT WITH SHALE DIPPING MODERATELY NORTH, CONFORMABLE TO
