General comments

Subject category Comment text
Deposit 2 PARALLEL SE-BEARING ADITS FOLLOW VEINS ALONG A MAJOR NW-STRIKING FAULT SYSTEM IDENTIFIED BY SCHRADER AS THE GOLD KING GROUP FAULT, WHICH WAS KNOWN TO BE ACTIVE IN THE 1954 FAIRVIEW-DIXIE VALLEY EARTHQUAKE, AND MAY HAVE BEEN ACTIVE IN 1903 AS WELL. THE VEINS STRIKE N 40-60 W, DIP STEEPLY TO THE NE AND CROSS THE MAJOR GOLD KING GROUP FAULT. MOST OF THE WORKINGS FOLLOW PARALLEL STRUCTURES AT THE NE HEADINGS. 2 ADITS FARTHER TO THE WEST AND LOWER ON THE HILL FOLLOW STRUCTURES THAT BEAR S 70 E AND DIP CLOSE TO VERTICAL. THE UPPER OF THE 2 ADITS IS ABOUT 56 FT LONG AND FOLLOWS A VEIN THAT MAKES A MINOR JOG 35 FT FROM THE PORTAL. SAMPLE 3927 WAS TAKEN FROM THE VUGGY, IRON-STAINED QUARTZ-ADULARIA VEIN AND INCLUDED SOME VEIN MATERIAL SELECTED FROM THE DUMP. SAMPLE 3928 WAS TAKEN FROM THE DUMP AND LOADING BIN AT THE LOWER MOST ADIT NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE SLOPE. THE LOWER ADIT IS ABOUT 190 FT LONG AND FOLLOWS THE STRIKE OF THE MAJOR VEIN SYSTEM. THE VEIN IN THE LOWER ADIT CONSISTS OF
Deposit QUARTZ-ADULARIA WITH SPECKS OF GRAY SILVER SULFIDES, AND PINCHES OUT INTO A RUBBLE ZONE NEAR THE FACE. SAMPLE 3927 IS FROM THIS VEIN.
