The Metal-Bearing Part Of The Deposit Is A Thin Layer Of Fine Heavy-Mineral Sand Composed Chiefly Of Pink Garnet And Grains Of Ilmenite And Magnetite. Minor Amounts Of Chromite And Some Very Small, Clear Crystals Of Zircon Are Also Present (Data From U.S.G.S. Mrds, 1990).
