  • THE COUNTRY ROCK AT THE STEWART SHAFT IS A MEDIUM-GRAINED REDDISH DIABASE, AND THE ROCK OF THE VEIN-LIKE MASS IS COARSER GRAINED DIABASIC ROCK WITH A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF EPIDOTE. THE VEIN-LIKE MASS IS 10 TO 18 INCHES THICK AND CAN BE TRACED FOR ABOUT 100 PACES TO THE EAST AND 200 PACES WEST OF THE SHAFT. IN PLACES IN THE MASS, COPPER IS QUITE ABUNDANT.

  • TWO PITS WERE SUNK CALLED THE STEWART AND PARKER SHAFTS. THE PARKER SHAFT SLOPES 22 TO 38 SOUTH. A TRENCH CUTS THE AMYGDALOID AT THE LITTLE MAUD VEIN.

  • IN 1899 A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF STRIPPING WAS DONE TO EXPOSE COPPER-BEARING AMYGDALOIDS.
