  • DEPOSIT OCCURS ON THE CREST OF THE LOMA PLATA ANTICLINE (A LARAMIDE STRUCTURE), NEAR THE LOMA PLATA FAULT (A BASIN AND RANGE FAULT) IN AN AREA OF ABUNDANT IRON STAINING, CALCITE VEINS, AND SINKHOLES. TERTIARY INTRUSIONS OCCUR NEARBY. THE DEPOSITS ARE STRUCTURALLY SIMILAR TO MERCURY DEPOSITS OF THE TERLINGUA DISTRICT.
