  • SEVERAL SHAFTS AND TUNNELS, IN ALL OVER 6,500 FT. THE ACTUAL WORKING DEVELOPMENT ON THE STRATUM CONTAINING ORE DOES NOT, HOWEVER, EXTEND OVER 125 FT. VERTICALLY AND 800 FEET HORIZONTALLY. THE WORKINGS ARE NOW CAVED AND INACCESSIBLE.

Deposit THE ORE OUTCROPPED IN TWO PLACES. THREE LARGE BODIES AND SEVERAL SMALLER ONES WERE FOUND ABOUT 20 FEET BELOW THE SURFACE. THE ORE IS A SOFT YELLOW SILICEOUS CHLORIDE, AND IS HIGHLY OXIDIZED.
Deposit THE DEPOSIT IS CONFINED TO THE LOWER PART OF THE 'GREAT BLUE' LIMESTONE, WHERE IT DIPS GENTLY WESTWARD ON THE WESTERN FLANK OF OPHIR ANTICLINE. A FAULT TRENDING N45W WAS OBSERED AT THE MINE SITE, AND CONSIDERABLE WORK HAD BEEN DONE ALONG THE CONTACT OF A LAMPROPHYRE DIKE TRENDING DUE NORTH. ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
