Deposit ORE SHOOTS ALONG IGNEOUS CONTACT
Deposit THE STAR MINE AND ITS 5 SEPARATE TACTITE BODIES HAVE YIELDED ABOUT 8,000 UNITS OF WOZ, THE LARGEST PRODUCTION IN THE DISTRICT. THE TACTITE ARE BODIES OCCUR ALONG THE IRREGULAR CONTACT ON THE EASTERN MARGIN OF THE TERTIARY INTRUSIVE AND THE LIMESTONES AND SHALES OF ORDOVICIAN AGE. ORE SHOOTS RANGE FROM 1'-20' IN WIDTH, AND UP TO 100' ALONG STRIKE, THEY WERE MINED TO A DEPTH OF 65' BY MEANS OF WINZES. THERE IS A 150 ADIT, AND AN INCLINED SHAFT AND OTHER WORKINGS DEVELOPE THE MINE PROPERTY. THE ORE GRADE AVERAGED FROM 0.5% TO 2.0% WITH THE AVERAGE ABOUT 1.0% WOZ MINERAL SURVEY 4878 ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT
