  • NUMEROUS PITS AND ONE SHAFT WERE DUG IN THE 1880'S OR BEFORE. THE SHAFT IS 183 M (600 FT.) WEST OF THE LITTLE REED ISLAND CREEK. MAIN CUT 420 FEET LONG TRENDING NNW, ABOUT 25 FEET DEEP AND 20-40 FEET WIDE.

Comments on development

  • IRON ORE WAS MINED IN THE 1880'S FROM NUMEROUS PITS. A SHAFT WAS DUG FOR LEAD AND ZINC ORES IN PRE 1880. ORE WAS DISCOVERED BUT NEVER DEVELOPED. SHAFT IS 600 FEET WEST OF LITTLE REED ISLAND CREEK.
