  • MINERALIZATION EXPOSED NEAR THE CONTACT BETWEEN THE HUNT FORK SHALE & THE KANAYUT CONGLOMERATE. MINERAL ZONE CONSIST OF BRECCIAS W/ CLASTS OF SHALE & SANDSTONE RIMMED W/ QUARTZ & CONTAINING SULFIDES IN THE INTERSTICES. MINERALS INCLUDE SULFIDE-BEARING VEINS & BRECCIAS, GALENA-RICH, & SPHALERITE & PYRITE BEING COMMON. THREE ZONES, BASED ON DOMINANT SULFIDE MINEROLOGY, ARE DISTINGUISHED W/IN THE VEIN SYSTEM: 10. THE PYRITE ZONE EHICH CONTAINS LITTLE OR NO GALENA OF SPHALERITE; 2). THE SPHALERITE ZONE, CONTAINING MINOE GALENA; & 3). THE GALENA- DOMINANT ZONE, WHICH CONTAINS CHALCOPYRITE. ALL 3 ARE TYPIFIED BY BANDS OF SULFIDES IN QUARTZ GANGUE (C-998). 1991 BUREAU SAMPLES COLLECTED CONTAINED UP TO 56.93% LEAD, 9.8% ZINC, AND 37.54 OZ/T SILVER. (BMOF75-92).
