Comments on the geologic information

  • NARROW LENTICULAR SHAPED COPPER BEARING ORE BODIES OCCUR AS REPLACEMENTS IN A SHEAR ZONE IN AMPHIBOLITE SCHISTS. THE ZONE OF OXIDATION EXTENDS TO A DEPTH OF 100 FEET, BELOW WHICH THE MINERALIZATION CONSISTS CHIEFLY OF CHALCOPYRITE AND PYRITE. THE SURFACE IS HIGHLY LEACHED AND THE COMMERCIAL SECONDARY ENRICHED ZONE EXTENDS FROM THE 25 TO 100 FOOT LEVELS. THE INDICATED THICKNESS OF ORE BODIES VARY FROM ONE TO SIX FEET AND PROBABLY AVERAGE ABOUT 3 FEET OTHER WIDELY SEPARATED ZONES ALONG THE STRIKE HAVE BEEN PROSPECTED BY SHAFTS AND TRENCHES, BUT ATTRACTIVE ORE BODIES WERE NOT DEVELOPED
