  • NEWLY DISCOVERED GRASBERG IS BEING DEVELOPED AND PRODUCTION IS BEING EXPANDED TO 52,000 MTPD. ADDITIONAL EXPANSIONS TO 90000 MTPD AND 115000 MTPD AT $US 545 MILLION AND $US 140 MILLION RESPECTIVELY DUE FOR COMPLETION BY 1996. ADDITIONAL EXPANSION IS UNDERWAY TO 160,000 MTPD TO BE COMPLETED BY 1998. EXPANSION TO 190,000 MTPD HAS BEEN STUDIED AND APPROVED.
