  • THE SULPHIDE CUPRO-NICKEL MINERALIZATION TO THE NORTH OF LAKE BAIKAL IS FOUND IN THE FORM OF A BELT WITHIN THE BODAIBIN DEPRESSION. THE LARGEST MASSIFS ARE AT IOKO-DOVYREN, CHAISKOYE, AND NYURUNDUKAN. THE MINERAL COMPOSITION OF THE ORE IS THE COMMON: PYRROTINE, PENTALANDITE, CHALKOPYRITE, AND MAGNETITE. INCREASED COBALT CONTENT HAS BEEN OBSERVED, SUCH THAT NI:CO IS (11-18):1 AND NI:CN IS (1.5-3):1.
