POSSIBLY THIS COULD REFER TO THE MCFADDIN MINE FARTHER SOUTH. CUMMINS (1890, P. 196) MAY BE THE EARLIEST REFERENCE. CUMMINS (1891, PL. 18) SHOWS A PROSPECT IN THIS POSITION. SMITH (1974, P. 61, 70) DESCRIBED SOME SAMPLES ABOUT 3500-4000 FT ESE OF THE MINE. THE MINE CONSISTED OF ONE ADIT. A SMELTER AND TWO-CELL JIG WERE CONSTRUCTED IN 1880 BY GOLDBERG MINING CO. ON MCFARLIN RANCH.
