  • PRODUCTION WAS TAKEN FROM THE FISSURE AS MASSES.

Comments on the workings information

  • AT THE NORTHERN END OF THE NORTH CLIFF FISSURE THERE IS AN ADIT HAVING THE STRIKE OF THE FISSURE. THREE VERTICAL SHAFTS WERE SUNK ON THE FISSURE NEAR THE ASHBED LODE. AN INCLINED SHAFT WAS SUNK ON THE ASHBED LODE IN OR NEAR THE CLIFF FISSURE, AND SOME DRIFTING WAS DONE, BUT THERE IS NO RECORD OF PRODUCTION.

  • ECON.COM: NORTH CLIFF WAS ORGANIZED ON 20 SEP 1858 BY SETTING OF 1,002.25 ACRES FROM THE LANDS OF THE PITTSBURGH AND BOSTON MINING CO. IT WAS REORGANIZED ON 22 MAR 1859. OPERATIONS WERE SUSPENDED AT THE END OF 1860; RESUMED IN 1863.

Deposit THE NORTH CLIFF MINING CO. WAS SET UP TO WORK THE EXTENSION OF THE CLIFF FISSURE ABOVE THE GREENSTONE FLOW.
Deposit ON THE GEOLOGIC MAP, AT LEAST SEVEN DIAMOND-DRILL HOLES ARE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA. THE NORTH CLIFF FISSURE TRENDS TO THE NORTHWEST.
