Comments on the commodity information

  • ?GOLD OCCURS PRINCIPALLY AS FREE OR NATIVE GOLD, LOCALIZED ALONG FRACTURES AND GRAIN BOUNDARIES IN PYRITE, AS SMALL ROUNDED INCLUSIONS IN CHALCOPYRITE, AND DISSEMINATED THROUGHOUT THE VARIOUS IRON-OXIDE MINERAL PHASES. COPPER OCCURS PRINCIPALLY IN THE MINERAL CHALCOPYRITE, ALTHOUGH MINOR AMOUNTS OCCUR IN OTHER SULFIDE MINERALS. SILVER OCCURS PRINCIPALLY AS THE MINERAL ELECTRUM (A MIXTURE OF GOLD AND SILVER), BUT CAN ALSO BE FOUND IN OTHER SULFIDE AND TELLURIDE PHASES.? (CROWN BUTTE MINES, NO DATE)

Comments on the geologic information

  • BRECCIA PIPES WITH MINERALIZED BLOCKS OF LIMESTONE IN THEM. INTRUSIVE SILLS ARE LOCALLY MINERALIZED. (CROWN BUTTE MINES LTD. 1989 ANNUAL REPORT).
  • ROCK UNITS ON PROPERTY FROM OLDEST TO YOUNGEST: WOLSEY SHALE, MEAGHER LIMESTONE, PARK SHALE AND PILGRIM LIMESTONE WHICH ARE, IN TURN, INTRUDED BY TERTIARY SILLS. UNITS DIP 3-7 DEGREES TO THE SOUTHWEST. FOUR MAJOR INTRUSIVE STOCKS: SCOTCH BONNET DIORITE, FISHER MOUNTAIN INTRUSIVE, HOMESTAKE-HENDERSON INTRUSIVE COMPLEX, HENDERSON MOUNTAIN STOCK (LATE CRETACEOUS TO MID-TERTIARY) (FROM CROWN BUTTE MINES ANNUAL REPORT, 1990). ALSO, ELLIOT AND OTHERS (1993) INCLUDED THE LULU PASS DACITE PORPHYRY LACCOLITH. THEY ALSO ASSOCIATE BRECCIA PIPES OR BRECCIA COMPLEXES WITH THE HOMESTAKE INTRUSIVE COMPLEX, THE HENDERSON MTN STOCK, AND THE FISHER MTN INTRUSIVE COMPLEX.

Deposit FISHER MOUNTIAN INTRUSIVE AND HOMESTAKE-HENDERSON INTRUSIVE COMPLEX SHOW INTRUSIVE PORPHYRY-TYPE ALTERATION WITH POTASSIC, ARGILLIC AND PHYLLIC CONCENTRIC ZONING. (CROWN BUTTE MINES LTD. 1989 ANNUAL REPORT).
Deposit ?THE MOST INTENSE MINERALIZATION IS FOUND AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF FRACTURES IN THE GROS VENTRE FORMATION? (CROWN BUTTE RESOURCES LTD. 1988 ANNUAL REPORT). ?ALTERED AND MINERALIZED ROCKS ARE LOCALIZED ALONG SILL AND DIKE MARGINS, UPPER AND LOWER CONTACTS OF THE MEAGHER FORMATION, CONTACTS WITH INTRUSIVE STOCKS AND COMPLEXES, AND FAULTS.? (ELLIOT AND OTHERS, 1993?). EARLY EPIDOTE-POTASSIUM FELDSPAR ASSEMBLAGE FORMED A PERMEABILITY BARRIER IN THE PARK SHALE TO LATER ORE-BEARING FLUIDS WHICH THEN REPLACED THE MEAGHER FORMATION. WHERE FRACTURES CUT THIS BARRIER, THE OVERLYING PILGRIM LIMESTONE IS MINERALIZED (IE FISHER MOUNTAIN DEPOSIT) (ELLIOT AND OTHERS, 1993?).
