  • SULFUR MINERALIZATION IS RESTRICTED TO A SOFT, HIGHLY ALTERED AND DECOMPOSED RAYOLITE DIKE. THE DEPOSITS OCCUR AS A SUBLIMATE FROM SULFUR-RICH VOLCANIC GASES IN THE FORM AS VEINLETS AND IRREGULAR NODULES OF VARYING SIZES. THE DIKE HAS UNKNOWN DEPTH (MINERALIZATION DEPTH UNKNOWN), AND HAS INTRUDED UP-THRUSTED BLOCKS OF TRIASSIC AND JURASSIC LIMESTONES AND EOCENE SEDIMENTARY ROCKS (CLAY/MUD STONES, SANDSTONES, MARLS, CONGLOMERATES, GRAYWACKES, AND SHALES). HIGH GRADE ORE IS DIRECTLY SMELTED TO ELEMENTEL SULFUR, THE LOWER GRADE ORE IS SENT THROUGH FLOTATION. BOTH PLANTS ARE NEAR THE MINE SITE.
