| Deposit | THESE COMMENTS ARE FROM A PREVIOUS DATA BASE ENTRY. PYRITE ORE IS CRUSHED AND CONVERTED INTO SULFURIC ACID AT A PLANT IN SCARLINO, ITALY (NEAR FOLLONICA). IRON PELLETS (66% FE) ARE ALSO PRODUCED: NEARLY ONE-HALF MT/MT FEED. PLANT RECEIVES ORE FROM CAMPIANO AND NICCIOLETA. FUTURE PLANS CALL FOR INCREASING SCARLINO PLANT ACID OUTPUT, PRODUCING IRON SPONGE (92% FE) AND RECOVERING PB & ZN. ACID INCREASE EXPECTED TO BE ABOUT 30% OVER 1980 OUTPUT AND COMPLETED FOR 1983 MINE OUTPUT. |
