Deposit THE PROSPECT WAS ORIGINALLY STAKED IN 1925. THE STANDARD CLAIMS, STAKED IN 1931(?), MAY COVER ALL OR PART OF THE LIBERTY OCCURRENCE. COBB'S (1978, P. 56) REFERENCE TO SCHEELITE AT THIS OCCURRENCE PROBABLY APPLIES TO SCHEELITE AT ANOTHER LIBERTY PROPERTY (BYERS AND SAINSBURY, 1956, P. 140 AND PLATE 1).
Deposit THE COUNTRY ROCK IN THE AREA OF THIS OCCURRENCE IS TRIASSIC TEXAS CREEK GRANODIORITE, WHICH REGIONALLY UNDERLIES AND LOCALLY INTRUDES PELITIC METASEDIMENTARY AND SUBORDINATE ANDESITIC METAVOLCANIC STRATA OF THE JURASSIC OR OLDER MESOZOIC HAZELTON GROUP (SMITH, 1977; KOCH, 1996). THE DEPOSIT (BUDDINGTON, 1929, P. 93-94) CONSISTS OF A QUARTZ VEIN AS MUCH AS 2 FEET THICK IN A 20-40-FOOT WIDE SHEAR ZONE IN GRANODIORITE. THE VEIN CONTAINS LOCAL SHOOTS OF GALENA.
