Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = The area is underlain by Paleozoic argillite (Pzus) and Middle to Upper Devonian limestone (Dl) that are cut by the middle Tertiary (38 m.y.) granodiorite of the Mt. Foraker pluton (Tf) (Reed and Nelson, 1980). Disseminated pyrite, chalcopyrite and other sulfides occur in sheared sedimentary rocks. Nearby float contains massive arsenopyrite with up to 0.45 oz/ton gold (Reed and others, 1978).
  • Age = Middle Tertiary; mineralization is interpreted to be related to the Mt. Foraker pluton which is described as a 38 m.y. old pluton Reed and Nelson (1980).

Comments on the workings information

  • Workings / Exploration = Reconnaissance mapping, stream silt and rock sampling (Reed and others, 1978; Reed and Nelson, 1980) are all that have been described here. Nearby float contains massive arsenopyrite with up to 0.45 oz/ton gold (Reed and others, 1978).
