Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Bornite and minor chalcocite, malachite and chalcopyrite in wedge-shaped pods, lenses, veins, and disseminations in lower 20 ft of the Upper Triassic Chitistone Limestone which overlies the Nikolai Greenstone. Largest pod 10 m long and 3 m wide. Limestone locally silicified near ore. Similar to Kennicott deposit (MC003).

  • Workings / Exploration = More than 400 m of underground workings on 4 unconnected levels driven between 1911 and 1930. Channel samples across lode contain 50 ppm Ag, 2,000 ppm As, >2 percent Cu (MacKevett and Smith, 1968).
