Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Visible chalcopyrite and malachite in less than 3 ft. (1 m) wide quartz vein cutting limestone (Mayfield and Grybeck, 1978). Occurrence could be similar to several other sediment-hosted occurrences in the Brooks Range that formed from the dewatering of a large sedimentary basin (Schmidt, 1997, p. 35-65; Schmidt and Werdon, 1993, p. 143).
  • Age = Paleozoic

District name Noatak

Comments on the workings information

  • Workings / Exploration = 10 ppm Ag in one rock sample (Mayfield and Grybeck, 1978).
