Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Cody Creek drains an area underlain by the California Creek Member of the Totatlanika Schist; it consists of gray quartz-orthoclase-sericite schist and augen gneiss (Wahrhaftig, 1970 [GQ-810]). In 1916, placer gold was reported, but no mining took place (Maddren, 1918, p. 368).
  • Age = Quaternary placer.
