Economic information

Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = Some prospecting occurred on this creek in 1916, 1934, and possibly other years, but there are no records of mining (Mertie, 1918; Smith, 1936). A stream sediment sample showed 2.3 ppm gold, an anomalous amount (Eberlein, 1977, p. 67). Chromite and chrome spinels were found in placers (Joesting, 1942; ATDM Pamph. 1). Bedrock is silicified limestone/dolomite, chert, and greenstone.
