Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = A narrow paystreak of gold-bearing gravel was mined in 1915 (Brooks, 1916; B 642). The gold was worth $18 per ounce (Prindle and Katz, 1913). Placer ground is shallow in lower to middle part of the stream course where mining took place. The creek was re-mined by open-cut methods from 1966 to 1968.
