Comments on the geologic information

  • Geologic Description = The only information on the site is that lode claims were staked in granite porphyry (U.S. Bureau of Mines, 1973). The granite porphyry has phenocrysts of quartz, plagioclase, and potassic feldspar up to 4 mm across in a groundmass of quartz, potassic feldspar, and plagioclase grains up to 1 mm across (Nelson and others, 1983; unit TKi10).
  • Age = Granite in vicinity is Cretaceous to Tertiary (Nelson and others, 1983; unit TKi10).
